One weekend, in mid 2003, saw a series of Tango workshops held in the newly-refurbished Orangery of an old Norfolk Hall that had been ruined in the 20th Century.

Rodolfo and Miho gave two back sacada workshops on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

BACK

.

Rodolfo and Miho began by rehearsing pivots in which the torso remains forward-looking while the lower body is pivoted through 90 or even 180.

Then we rehearsed extending the foot back from the pivot, keeping the heel near the floor

For the first exercise we walked in offset cross system, with followers taking their time on the steps to give the leader maximum sacada opportunity
In quick time leader will move forward on right leg and pivot 90 to left while continuing to face LOD

In quick time leader pushes his left foot back to sacada follower's trailing left leg

Followers leg lifts over leder's and teh y continue walking offset along LOD

repeat

Next day they began with a different exercise in which 90 pivots are repeated each with foot pushbacks while the torso continues to face 90 to right of hip/foot

For the main exercise we walked in offset parallel system, with followers taking their time on the steps to give the leader maximum sacada opportunity
In quick time leader will move forward on right leg and pivot 90 to left while continuing to face LOD

In quick time leader pushes his left foot back to sacada follower's trailing right leg; follower's leg lifts over leader's

In quick time leader pivots 90 to left while continuing to face follower turning her into her open step

In quick time leader pushes his left foot back to sacada follower's trailing left leg; follower's leg lifts over leader's

In quick time leader pivots 90 to left while continuing to face follower turning her into her back step

In quick time leader pushes his left foot back to sacada follower's trailing right leg; follower's leg lifts over leader's

In quick time leader pivots 90 to left while continuing to face follower turnign her into anotehr open step

In quick time leader pushes his left foot back to sacada follower's trailing left leg; follower's leg lifts over leader's

repeat as long as possible!
