One weekend, in the Spring of 2004, Richard & Eleonora, originally from Rosario but now based in London, held a series of Tango workshops in the recently-refurbished Orangery of Bylaugh Hall in Norfolk.

Richard & Eleonora led a series of workshops with a small group of local or temporarily resident participants on Saturday and Sunday - morning and afternoon - based on caminita and corrida.

There was also a Valentine's Milonga on the Saturday night.

  back to basic caminita and corrida

  back to combining the caminita and corrida with sacadas

The third workshop began with a simple linear boleo:

  walk in parallel and;

at a certain moment, the leader stops but his torso continues to move forward slightly to give energy to the follower's free foot which swings back;

at a certain moment, the leader moves his torso back again bringing follower's foot forward in another swing

Then we tried the same action / reaction in a backward ocho:

  enter the back ocho;

at a certain moment, the leader stops the follower but his torso continues to pivot her slightly to give energy to the follower's free foot which swings back and around;

at a certain moment, the leader moves his torso back again bringing follower's foot forward in another swing which, if energetic enough, causes follower's foot to swing across in front of her other leg;

Then we tried another linear boleo:

  leader steps forward on left foot in parallel;

leader moves to offset left of follower on his right foot;

leader steps to his left side on his left leg

leader opens to his right preventing follower's cross and her leg swings back

follower's leg swings forward;

lead follower ito back ocho on right and walk out

  lead follower ot cross left on right and change weight to left foot;

bring follower into forward ocho ...

  revising the caminita and corrida

  combining the caminita and corrida with ganchos

  combining the caminita and corrida with alterations

How it started
What you must do first
Getting around
Intertwining those legs
Having real fun
Swirling around the room
No limits
