One weekend, in the Spring of 2004, Richard & Eleonora, originally from Rosario but now based in London, held a series of Tango workshops in the recently-refurbished Orangery of Bylaugh Hall in Norfolk.

Richard & Eleonora led a series of workshops with a small group of local or temporarily resident participants on Saturday and Sunday - morning and afternoon - based on caminita and corrida.

There was also a Valentine's Milonga on the Saturday night.

The first workshop began with basic caminita:

  walk to music around the room in the line of dance

then we occasionally added the corrida:

  several normal steps then three short double time steps, continuing in normal time

then we played with a reverse of direction during the walk:

  forward, open step in LOD, back step, open step in LOD, forward step etc

and occasionally added a corrida on teh backward steps:

  forward, open along LOD, back,back,back, open along LOD, forrward

then we played with entering and exiting the cross system:

  forward in cross-system, walk some steps, change to parallel with leader's double step either crossing behind or stepping alongside other foot, continue in parallel, switching from time to time

begin on Leader's left, Follower's left in cross system;

  forward with gentle in-line sacada of Follower's left leg;

walk some steps:

change to parallel with leader's double step either crossing behind or stepping alongside other foot:

continue in parallel, switching from time to time

  combining the caminita and corrida with sacadas

  combining the caminita and corrida with boleos

  revising the caminita and corrida

  combining the caminita and corrida with ganchos

  combining the caminita and corrida with alterations

How it started
What you must do first
Getting around
Intertwining those legs
Having real fun
Swirling around the room
No limits
